Funding requests to these foundations may be a part of a strategy from the Office of the President, Office of the Vice President for Research, CFR, etc. All faculty and development professionals must make CFR aware of outreach, contact, and submissions to these foundations in advance.
This is not meant to interfere with responses to open RFPs, pre-existing relationships with program officers, previously established funding streams or in any way impede the submissions process with additional bureacracy. It is to coordinate our efforts so UVA does not appear to the funder to be disorganized or fragmented.
